I know that if you are pulled over or whatever you can be asked to prove you are insured to drive the car and all, that much is obvious. Why is livery insurance so hard to get and so expensive?

I am in the process of starting up a shuttle transportation service. However, one of the biggest problems I am having is getting the insurance needed. This is a for hire shuttle service, meaning customers pay a fee to ride on my 15 person vans. Almost every insurance company I called said they don't offer this type of insurance, and the one that did quoted me $8,000 to $10,000 per year!! What's the deal here? What type of insurance does the famous supershuttle company have? Does anyone know how to go about getting this insurance??

Do I need Owner's title insurance in a new construction home?

I'm buying a new home. The seller built the house for me over an existing lot of his property. Do I need to buy a regular owner's title insurance? or might I save some money buying it only for the land?. Since the house is a new construction it should not be any liens. is this a right assumption? The house is located in TX. Also if I need to buy owner's title insurance does it has to be from the same company providing the lender's title insurance.

I would like to purchase a used car in NY. Im curious to know if I need to purchase the car before I get insurance or can I buy the insurance then decide what car I want. Im actually not sure what car I would like to get right now, but in NY you cannot register a car without car insurance. What Insurance Agency Will Cover Salvage Rebuilt Cars?

I own a 2001 Ford Focus that I'm just now finding out is a Salvage Rebuild vehicle. I switched from the New York State insurance to Geico because it was cheaper, but Geico doesn't cover salvage rebuilds (I only found out it was a salvage rebuild because it was on my title). I purchased the car from my great-grandmother, who purchased it from a dealership in 2004. According to them, they do not sell salvage rebuild cars, but lo and behold, it is a salvage rebuild (from NJ!). I need an insurance company by the 9th of this month that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg for a downpayment ($298 for GMAC... eesh). Does anyone know of what insurance agencies DO cover salvage rebuilds and are online?
